Natural health products (NHP) include substances such as vitamins, minerals, herbal medicines, homeopathic treatments, energy drinks, probiotics, and other alternative and traditional medicines. These products are registered with Natural Product Numbers (NPN) through Health Canada and are subject to testing regulations.
Supra R&D offers a number of analyses related to chemical residues and contaminants. In addition, we offer services such as chemical fingerprinting which can be used for concerns such as product authenticity. This is becoming an increasing concern for the industry, as materials are typically sourced globally with non-standard or non-existent certifications of origin. Supra is engaged in a series of initiatives with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) related to product authentication.
